Paper Abstract:
|
This article is methodically a meta-synthesis based on results from evaluation of different part-projects. Teachers Forum is a context for web-based counselling. This paper is based on an action research project which aims at implementing blended learning as a tool for practical problem solving in basic education in Norway by establishing a new teachers forum, a net-forum for practical problem-solving. The net-forum is built on a simple principle; asking questions and getting answers. Teachers questions are based on their own definitions of a practical problem experienced by them self. Guidance by this net-forum aims at giving teachers the ability to solve their own practical workday problems in a better way by using the synergy that may be gained by coaching via teachers forum. The value must be specially emphasized for teachers in district schools. In this paper we have discussed various issues that become relevant for developing and testing an online forum where teachers can consult a team composed of professionals and colleagues to get advice when they experience difficult teaching situations. The paper is based on research gained at the end of the project period exploring text-based blended counselling. The paper is also an opportunity to clarify experiences about online counselling, the strengths it brings to the teachers work and the need for personal support that has to be addressed in problematic situations. This forum is also a contribution towards developing the school as a learning organization and to contribute to the schools learning-culture by putting the principles within blended learning into practice. |
